There are several Best Western hotels near Disneyland. This review is only about the two directly across the street from the main pedestrian entrance: Best Western Plus Park Place Inn - Mini Suites (1544 S Harbor Blvd) and Best Western Plus Anaheim Inn (1630 S Harbor Blvd). Make sure you are booking one of these two and not a Best Western farther away that requires a shuttle.

These hotels sit on either side of the Park Vue Inn, all three directly across Harbor Boulevard from the Disneyland main gate. We have stayed at both multiple times. You are booking them for one reason: nothing else puts you this close to the park entrance. From your room to the security line is two to five minutes. They are closer to the parks than the Disneyland Hotel. Both include free breakfast. The rooms are older and more basic than newer hotels like the Hyatt House or Fairfield, but that trade-off is worth it for many families.

Location

When we had toddlers who needed afternoon naps, one parent would walk the toddler back to the hotel and put them down while the other parent stayed at the parks. A two-minute walk makes that work. From the Hyatt House or Fairfield, the same round trip adds another 10-20 minutes. Even without toddlers, the proximity makes the afternoon break strategy far more practical.

Park Place Inn vs. Anaheim Inn

Best Wester Park Place Inn -Mini Suites (1544 S Harbor Blvd)

The closer of the two. Mini-suites with two queen beds and a sofa bed, sleeping up to six. Tends to be slightly more expensive. Parking around $30 per night and can be tight. Can be noisier — request a room away from the elevator and pool.

Best Western Anaheim Inn (1630 S Harbor Blvd)

One extra minute of walking. Suites with two queens and a king or double, sleeping up to six. Often slightly cheaper. Parking around $25 per night. Gets praise for comfortable, updated beds. Has a terrace for watching Disneyland fireworks. Laundry facilities on site.

Both have been renovated in recent years. They are exterior corridor hotels (doors open to the outside), which means more street and pool noise. Both have a microwave, mini fridge, and coffee maker. Bring a sound machine if you are a light sleeper.

Breakfast

Both hotels offer free hot breakfast starting at 6:30 AM — early enough to eat and make rope drop. The menu rotates daily: eggs, sausage, potatoes, waffles or pancakes, fruit, yogurt, cereal, and grab-and-go items. The Park Place serves breakfast above the adjacent Calaca Mamas Cantina. The Anaheim Inn has its own breakfast area. Free breakfast is a meaningful advantage over nearby competitors like the Fairfield, HoJo, and Courtyard, none of which include it. Grab a few to-go items on your way out for snacking in the park.

The Rooms

The rooms are clean and functional but not fancy. The Anaheim Inn gets particular praise for comfortable beds. Suite rates run around $320-350 per night, and for six people with free breakfast that is a good value. If updated rooms matter more to your group than proximity, the Hyatt House is a better fit — but it is a few blocks farther.

Pool

Both hotels have small heated pools and hot tubs. The Anaheim Inn has a fireworks viewing terrace near the pool. These are basic pools — if pool time matters to your family, the HoJo, Courtyard Marriott, or Disney resort hotels have bigger setups.

Points vs. Cash

These are cash hotels. Best Western has its own loyalty program, but Chase, Amex, and Hyatt points do not transfer to it. Rates range from about $200 on slower weekdays to $400+ during holidays. Around $300-350 for a family of six with free breakfast is solid. For a family of four at that price, I would compare the Fairfield (closer, newer, no breakfast) or the Hyatt House on points. Book early — these hotels fill up fast.

Practical Details

Parking: $25-30 per night depending on the hotel. The Park Place lot is tight. If you are flying in, skip the rental car — everything is walkable and Uber to the airport is cheap.

Food nearby: McDonald's and Panera are about a block away. Cold Stone Creamery is inside the Park Vue Inn between the two hotels. Pizza Press is two blocks down Harbor Blvd. You have a microwave and mini fridge in the room, so you can have groceries delivered from Target or Walmart.

Laundry: Both hotels have self-service machines (about $4 wash, $4 dry — bring your own detergent). This saved us on a rainy trip when I had to dry my kids' tennis shoes overnight. Lesson learned: always bring crocs or sandals as backup shoes.

Quick Comparisons

Vs. Fairfield: One block farther, newer rooms, no breakfast. Better for families of four paying cash under $250.

Vs. Hyatt House: Newer, great breakfast, books on Hyatt points, but 15-minute walk vs. 2 minutes. Best option if you use points.

Vs. HoJo: One block farther, much better pool, no breakfast.

Vs. Grand Californian: The Grand Californian has its own California Adventure entrance, but costs significantly more per night.

Final Thoughts

Book either The Best Western Plus Park Place Inn - Mini Suites or The Besty Western Plus Anaheim Inn if you want the one of the closest possible locations to the Disneyland main gate, you need a room that sleeps six, you value free breakfast, or you have toddlers who need easy nap access. Look elsewhere if you prefer newer rooms (Hyatt House Anaheim Convention Center), a great pool (Howard Johnson by Wyndham Anaheim Hotel & Water Playground or Courtyard by Marriott Anaheim Theme Park Entrance), you want to use points (Hyatt House at Anaheim Resort/Convention Center) or are ready for a magical splurge (Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa or Disneyland Hotel).

One note on travel companions: my spouse would choose the Hyatt House over the Best Western. He spends half the day in the room working and watching sports, so the room matters more to him. For me, being two minutes from the park entrance is everything. Think about who is in your group when you choose.
